On the 20th December Trustee, Malcolm Brett, and Charity Co-ordinator, Catherine Attwood, went along to The Love It Hub in Durrington to meet The Empty Plate team and join their Christmas Lunch.

The Empty Plate uses food that is destined for landfill to serve wholesome food to the local community. The cafe is ‘pay as you feel’ so everyone can have a meal regardless of their financial status.

The Christmas events organised by the group were held to support families who are struggling financially. Worthing Community Chest awarded the Empty Plate a grant of £1,270 which helped to fund food, decorations, an entertainer and gifts.

Worthing Community Chest were lucky enough to sample the lunch and see how the group is helping the community. The best part of our work is seeing our grants in action. A very Merry Christmas to Mark and the team.
