In November 2016 Worthing Community Chest awarded Worthing Drama Company a grant of £800 to help put on their production The Cemetery Club. The Drama Company kindly invited us along to see the production and Trustee Malcolm Brett attended. Below Malcolm tells us about the show.

“One of the pleasures of being a Trustee of the Community Chest is the ability to be able to present a cheque to an organisation that has successfully applied for a grant.

One such group is the Worthing Drama Company, which is a new group that was set up in 2016 and applied to the Community Chest for help in staging their first performance.

The Cemetery Club

I had the pleasure of presenting the cheque at the Sealight Theatre, part of the Worthing College campus.

I was joined by Cllr Louise Murphy and Dr. Heather Mercer who were also very impressed with the production.

It is a great privilege to see how the grants that the Community Chest give come to fruition.

If, like Worthing Drama Company, you have set up a new group and need funds why not get in touch to see if Worthing Community Chest can help?”
