Appointment of New Chair for Worthing Community Chest

Worthing Community Chest is an independent, registered charity which funds and supports local projects, activities and events. We do this by building partnerships, assisting with community development and offering financial support with small grants raised through our Worthing based recycling programme.

We are seeking a committed, local individual with commitment to the voluntary sector to join us as a voluntary, unpaid Trustee and Chair. Lead our friendly and experienced Board of Trustees and help us support the wonderful voluntary groups and community organisations working so hard for the benefit of our town and its residents.

The role will involve the normal duties of leading the Board and Organisation to enable it to fulfil its purpose. The chair has responsibilities to the Charities Commission and Companies House reflecting our charitable and trading entities.

It will also involve establishing relationships between the community and external stakeholders and acting as spokesperson and figurehead when needed.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an active commitment to community matters and strong communication skills in a wide range of settings. An understanding of financial matters is desirable to enable a close working relationship with the Treasurer.

For initial expression of interest and a full job description please contact us by phone or email by 30th March. Interviews will take place within the first two weeks of April.
