At the end of February, Worthing Community Chest trustee, Malcolm Brett, chaired the latest round of funding. He kindly wrote us a blog about the morning.

As a trustee of the Worthing Community Chest it was my privilege and pleasure to chair the latest grant funding Appraisal Panel on 22nd February.

The panel members gathered to consider a total of 7 applications, these ranged from Outdoor forest projects to Choral support and street assistance as well as more artistic works.

The projects covered a wide range age groups from all parts of the community.

Each of the applications were discussed and awarded grants on their merits, the important thing was how they benefited the people in the local area.

Worthing is a very diverse community with a whole lot of varied activities and it is always good that the Community Chest can help and support these groups and organisations.

The groups who were awarded funds were:

The Rowland Singers Choral Society – £1,150 towards new staging

One Love Worthing – £914.24 towards the costs of rental, materials and equipment hire.

Worthing Street Pastors – £750 towards the cost of rental.

The next round of funding is in May, so if you are having a summer event you should be thinking of applying soon!
