November 5th fireworks, and plenty of excitement for the children as they gathered to watch the fireworks display on Worthing seafront. Worthing Community Chest went along to meet Tide of Light and present them with their grant cheque! Tide of Light gave 500 children some additional excitement by providing them with an opportunity to make a lantern and take part in a parade along the seafront. The workshop had taken part at the Pavilion during the day with great success.

Worthing Community Chest were pleased to be part of the celebrations by contributing £1,500 towards the lighting up of Steine Gardens. It may have been a cold evening but Jess was happy to receive the cheque from WCCC Trustee Melinda Dixon. Posing in front of the Tide of Light lit sign in Steine Gardens Jess expressed her thanks “Community Chest were instrumental in getting Tide of Light off the ground in 2014. With 35,000 people at the event this was one of the best ever and without grant funding from project like Community Chest these great events wouldn’t happen. Thank you Community Chest from all of us at Tide of Light”, before dashing off to marshall the hordes of excited children and their lanterns.
