We’ve fully embraced getting outdoors and active over the last few weeks, come rain or shine! Our partnerships with the Rotary Club of Worthing, South Downs Leisure and Worthing Borough Council have provided two wonderful opportunities to bring our community together.

The Rotary Club and Worthing Community Chest hosted a Community Walk along the Prom on a rainy Sunday in August. We were delighted to welcome 38 walkers from different community groups, with a special shout out to those who turned up in their Star Wars costumes! Encouraging Rotary Club members saw us all off at the Sea Lane Cafe starting point, and Worthing Community Chest Trustees cheered us on at the Rowing Club which marked half way. We braved the furious weather through the first 5k, and were rewarded with some very welcome glorious sunshine towards the end of the second 5k!

We have also been busy with the folks at South Downs Leisure and WBC who were very enthusiastic about putting together a joint proposal for a Junior Park Run. It’s due to launch at Worthing Leisure Centre in September, though a start date is yet to be confirmed, and will be based on the running track. You can read more about it here.

Our thanks to the Worthing Herald for their continued support and coverage.

Our November funding round is now open! It’s the perfect opportunity for local groups who are thinking ahead to the end of the year and Christmas events (I know, we said it!). For more information, head to our grants and funding section.
